Ashdon School PTA

The PTA is a very important support group for the school. All parents/carers of pupils at Ashdon School are automatically become members of the PTA when their children join the school (there are no membership fees) and then there is a dedicated PTA committee which is open to all parents/carers. A copy of the PTA Constitution is available from the School Office.

Our PTA arranges fund-raising activities and social functions which deliver huge benefits for the school in the form of financing or subsidising trips, equipment and resources, all of which enhance the children’s development.  In the past year, the PTA has subsidised the weekly swimming lessons for class 3 pupils, funded theatre trips and various visits to the school by external educational groups, purchased an interactive screen, bought playground equipment and much, much more.

The Committee hold an Annual General Meeting in November where new committee members are appointed and the forthcoming year’s programme of events is discussed. During the year PTA meets about twice each term, over a glass of wine for about an hour and it is a really great opportunity to get to know other parents and be actively involved in what’s happening in your school for your child. Our meetings are informal and fun and there is no obligation to give lots of time to the PTA. We all do what we can. In fact, if you feel you can’t fully commit to being a PTA committee member, then you can still get involved by being a ‘PTA’ angel. These are an additional support group of parents for the PTA and they step forward when cakes need baking or extra help is needed at an event.

The PTA is always happy to welcome new committee members or angels so do get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
